Private walking tour of Siena

Knowing a place, means having a profound understanding of its history and traditions. On this 2-hours private tour, with an expert local guide, you’ll come to discover Siena’s hidden treasures.

What you will see

During the tour you’ll visit the most important historical places of the city center: the gothic Church of San Domenico, where the relics of Santa Caterina are preserved, then through the main street, where you can see the original site of the Banca Monte dei Paschi, Tolomei's Palace, the Church of San Cristoforo and the Logge della Mercanzia. In Piazza del Campo, the guide will show you the beauty of the Palazzo Pubblico, the Torre del Mangia and Fonte Gaia; and you will be told about the age-old tradition of the Palio, the horse race that enlivens the whole city twice a year. The tour continues towards the Duomo, stopping at Palazzo Chigi Saracini, has been the residence of the Chigiana Music Academy since 1965.

Let yourself be enchanted by the age-less façade of the Cathedral, in the Piazza Duomo; the combination of colours, and the statues by Giovanni Pisano, are just a part of the artistic merit of this building. You’ll be told about the majestic project behind the construction of the Cathedral, left unfinished since 1348.
